Our Mission
We, the parishioners of St. Joseph Catholic Church, a community of faith, being spirit-filled and empowered by our baptism, are called to live the Gospel of Jesus Christ. United by our Eucharistic-centered worship, our continued commitment to faith formation and our love for one another, we dedicate our time, talent and treasure to the enrichment of our community and the greater glory of God.
Parish Vision
We, the children of God at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, through our faith, our hope and our charity, envision that our Parish will be:
An inspiring and welcoming place of worship, prayer and praise;
A truly Catholic Christian community filled with love for God and one another;
A supportive and nurturing home for all seeking to grow spiritually and in the knowledge of our faith, including the holy scriptures and the teachings of the Church;
A family of believers that respect and protect the sanctity of life, from conception to natural death, while empowering each other, including children, to fully live through the sacraments the vocations to which God has called us.
Goals and Strategies
The implementation of this mission focuses on four overarching goals and strategies supportive of each goal.
Liturgical Goal: To improve our response to the Call to Holiness and strengthen our love for Jesus, present in the Eucharist.
“Blessed are we O Israel, for what pleases God is known to us.” Baruch 4:4
Strategies:
1. Attend Mass, arriving on time, dressing and exhibiting behavior that shows reverence and respect in the presence of the Eucharist.
2. Participate fully in Mass, joining others in prayer and song, and following the guidelines of our Pope and Bishop.
3. Promote music as a form of praise with arrangements and selections suitable to the congregation.
4. Encourage participation in devotions such as Benediction, Adoration and the Rosary.
5. Adorn the church as appropriate to the liturgical season and event.
